This was my second documentary, and it proved to be a very different experience with new challenges. The pre-production for this project was much more complicated, as everyone in the group had various ideas but struggled to make them come to fruition. This was the first period where we fell the transition from a group fiction film project to a non fiction film. Our DOP mentioned that he knew an interesting character that would have enough stories to tell to create an interesting documentary. After thinking about the prospect as a group, we decided the documentary could be very insightful and educational into the niche culture our subject, Ray, was a part of. My role as producer meant I worked heavily with our DOP because of his close connection to our subject. I also had to be in charge of the legal documents for our subject to appear in our film. Overall, I am happy with the final film and I think Ray was a great benefactor towards the film's entertainment value. I didn't think I would feel comfortable in a producer role, but I enjoyed spear heading the project and working with every department. ​​​
